Student Newsletter

This year we have a team of students that will be writing regularly for this newsletter. This team will also be producing the student newsletter mid year and will include news stories, special features and of course lots of puzzles, jokes and colouring in activities. Please read below to see what Connor Philpott, Christopher Bodsworth and Llyod Jetten had to say about about the school leaders' trip to Melbourne last week for The National Young Leaders Conference.  Also Breanna Inglis-Goodliffe and Charlie Payne share with us some of their thoughts about the recent school fete.

Young Leader's Fun!

On Monday 18th March all our school and house captains travelled to Melbourne to the National Young Leaders' Day.  We heard many inspiring stories from Cal Wilson, Tim Cotton, Holly Ferling, and Leisel Jones.   Christopher, the boy captain of Blue house, commented, ‘I found Tim most inspiring! I love his idea of helping out all those people.’ Next I interviewed Breanna, the girl Red House captain. She stated, ‘I found Holly most inspiring. I liked how she explained that things can be scary but exciting.’

Most of the captains liked eating McDonalds on the way to the auditorium. Green House captain Karli had a little accident with her hot chocolate. Clean up on table 5!

The Fantastic Fete!

You had to see it to believe it! There was everything from jumping castles to train rides. The annual Numurkah School Fete took place on Friday 15th March and was well attended by the community.

Everybody was talking about it. It was truly fantastic. “The night was full of fun and all my friends were there,” said Crystal. People were impressed by the  scrumptious food with Shaye commenting,

“I loved the cupcakes I also enjoyed a refreshing coke and delicious chips.”

There were rides for all ages from sumo wrestling to fun train rides. “I enjoyed the Careful Cobbers. They were fun," said Arthur.

Many prizes were won from the spinning wheel and the new soccer target was a great success.

Overall it was a great night.

Even the teachers had fun!
