Denise's Message

Dear Families,

I hope you all enjoyed a relaxing holiday and were able to spend some special times with families and friends relaxing and having fun. I was lucky enough to be able to get away with my husband and travel to some beautiful places in regional Victoria. We spent time in Beechworth, Avoca, Halls Gap, Dunkeld, Port Fairy and Port Campbell, we saw much of Victoria's beautiful countryside and enjoyed plenty of good old country hospitality. It was extremely disappointing that Victoria went back into lockdown, ending our holiday and sending us back into remote learning. I have now returned to work and will finish my leave at a later time this year.

I thank Steven and all the staff for transitioning back into remote learning with ease and with such great expertise. I thank our families and our children for their cooperation in helping this to happen so well.

I look forward to hopefully seeing you all back at school next Wednesday but in the meantime please stay safe and be kind to yourselves and others. It is in such challenging times that we can let our light shine and be true Mercy people to all those around us.

School Closure Day

Our School Closure day for Term 3 is on Thursday 12th August. On this day all staff will take part in professional learning for the continued implementation of the Berry Street Education Model Training when we engage in Day 3 of the program.

Art Show

At the end of this term we will hold our first St Michael's Art Show on Thursday 16th September, so please keep this date free and more information will be shared with you shortly. This will be a great opportunity to showcase the amazing and talented creations done by all our students in Prep - Year 6.

Building Program

The building program has begun with works beginning offsite with the modular classrooms that will be inserted into the framework during Term 4. The actual construction of the framework will begin here at St Michael's during the September holidays. Please take a look at the attached video modelling how our new building will be constructed, it is amazing! Please note the large crane you see will only be onsite during holidays and weekends.
