Leadership @ MPS

We have had an exciting finish to the term! The Grade 5/6 students and staff had a terrific time away in Angelsea for 2 nights.  Congratulations to all our students on being fabulous! All staff at camp were so proud of the terrific behaviour and general attitude of our students. An enormous thank you to all staff that left their families for the 3 days to care for our students - we are grateful! Well done to all.

We would like to wish Nicky Gardner our amazing Art Specialist,  all the best as she takes Long Service Leave for Term 3. This has been a much anticipated trip and we wish Nicky and her family safe travels as they venture out of Victoria in their caravan!  We welcome Kate Ellis to MPS to take Art Classes in Nicky's absence.

Rachael Tabb, is also taking 4 weeks Long Service Leave from the start of next term. We wish her all the very best as she seeks out a warmer climate! Ashlee Sandars will be in Grade 1A  during Rachael's absence.

Staffing Update:

We are thrilled to announce 2 new staffing appointments commencing Term 3.

Mrs Fiona George has been appointed as a Leading Teacher to MPS. Fiona will be supporting Rebekah and myself by taking on the role of Student Wellbeing and School Operations. Fiona has worked locally in primary education for over 25 years and has a diverse skill set. We can't wait to welcome her to Monty PS!

We are also excited to announce that we have appointed a School Nurse!  Taylah Bourke, a qualified Registered Nurse will be joining our team. We are excited to welcome Taylah on board and look forward to the sharing of her nursing expertise and health knowledge, both which will be of great benefit to our school community.

We are certain that both Fiona and Taylah will have a positive impact at MPS as we continue to prioritise our health and wellbeing programs. Please make them both feel welcome!

Production update:

Our students have been working really hard on all things Production with Mrs Marcucci. At this point, we are unable to begin the process of selling tickets for the 2 evenings- (Tuesday 27th and Wednesday 28th July) as we are waiting on high level decisions around audience capacity at theatres.  We are hoping to have clarification at the start of next term and will let you know as soon as possible. Fingers crossed...!

Student Reports:

Reports were released via Compass yesterday. Our teachers have worked exceptionally hard on a new reporting format which better aligns with our curriculum scope and learning intentions. Please do not hesitate to contact your child's class teacher if there is anything at all you wish to discuss.

Call to Action!

One of our families, the Plueckhahn family (Erin, Aaron, Tillie FA and Neve 3/4E) are supporting their nephew and cousin, three-year-old Manoli, as he battles a rare cancer.   Please watch the story from The Project (link below) and please consider donating to the GoFundMe page, also via the link below. Our thoughts are with the entire Plueckhahn family.

Click here to watch The Project Story  - Manoli Plueckhahn is lovable, strong - and fighting for his life. He has an aggressive cancer that only affects 1 in 100,000 Australian children - and he and his family need help.
