The Great Book Swap - Book Donations please

St Finbar’s will be hosting a book swap to raise awareness for remote Aboriginal communities. From the start of Term 3 we will be collecting book donations to use for The Great Book Swap.

All funds raised will go towards providing books and literacy resources (some in first languages) to families, schools and service organisations in remote communities; and publishing stories by Indigenous people that are reflective of community life, language and culture.

HOW IT WORKS

Bring a book to school during Weeks 1-3 that you would like to donate for The Great Book Swap

In week 4 students will need to bring a gold coin to swap for a donated book during their library time to take home.

From Monday to Friday during NAIDOC week from 6:00pm to 9:30pm, NITV will showcase the beauty of our land and seas through a number of documentaries that act as a heavy reminder of what must be protected for future generations, tying into the NAIDOC theme of Heal Country! The powerful programming includes Talking LanguageUtopia Generations and Saving Seagrass.
