Principal's Report

Principal's Message

Dear Families,

As we head into the mid year break, I would like to thank all community members for a very successful Term 2.  I would like to acknowledge the dedication of the St. Finbar's Staff and the hard work of our students.  We have managed to complete most allocated activities for Term 2 with only a slight reshuffling of events to Term 3 from the 2 week lockdown.  I would encourage all families to use the mid year holidays to enjoy time together and recharge the batteries for a busy second half to the year.  We have our school production coming up at the end of Term 3 as well as Year 6 Confirmation, Year 4 First Eucharist, Year 4 Bike Ed Camp, Football, Netball and Soccer Lightning Premierships and the P & F Student Disco to name a few.

Thanks also to the community for your incredible generosity in supporting our Winter appeal.  The St. Vincent de Paul society will put your donations to good use, supporting the less fortunate in our community.

Mid Year Student Reports

The student mid year reports were made available to all families on Monday this week.  If you are unable to access your child's/children's reports please contact the office and we will assist you.

Dads Footy Match

Dear St Finbar’s Community

Footy’s back! We will be playing our yearly Dad’s football match this year against  St Joan of Arc on Saturday 28th August. Further details to come.

Important to note:

  • The emphasis of the day will be social (e.g., ‘masters’ AFL rules will apply)
  • We will run a number of joint training sessions for all players in the lead up to the game. The aim is so we all get know each other and have fun on the day
  • St JoA pride themselves on a history of minimal injuries so there will be some structured training in place (e.g. stretching and more stretching..)
  • Everyone is welcome regardless of whether you have played or not
  • The day has proven to be a great fundraiser with a raffle and other activities. Proceeds are split 50/50

In readiness for the big day and proper training, we have started some Sunday kick to kick sessions at 4pm at Elsternwick Park – Just off New St. Bring a footy, drinks and the kids.

If you are keen to play on the big day, or turn up for some kick to kick action, please contact James, Shane and Alan or register below. You will need to train to play. We really need to finalise numbers so please register so you’re name appears in the 2021 Footy Record.
