Premiers' Reading Challenge

It is great to see many of our students signing up to the PRC this year!

The Victorian Premiers' Reading Challenge is now open and Kurunjang Secondary College is excited to be participating.

The Challenge is open to all Victorian children from birth to Year 10 in recognition of the importance of reading for literacy development. It is not a competition, but a personal challenge for our students to read a set number of books by 17 September 2021.

Students in Years 7 - 10 are challenged to read 15 books. 

All students who meet the Challenge will receive a certificate of achievement signed by the Victorian Premier and former Premiers. 

Additional prizes and awards will be given to our top PRC students for 2021.

Melton Library Short Story Competition

Stretch your writing muscles and you could share in more than $3000 worth of prizes in the Melton City Libraries Short Story Competition!

Teenage Section (Year 7 - Year 12)

1st Prize: $300

2nd Prize: $200

3rd Prize: $100

The Short Story competition is a great opportunity for budding writers of all ages to showcase their talent and have their work read by popular authors. 

Entries can be submitted in any medium: text, print, illustration, video, verse, voice or combinations of any of the above.

Entries should be no more than 1500 words for junior and teen, or for other story formats, something that takes no more than 5 minutes to experience.

The competition will award the first, second and third prize entries in Junior, Teenage and Adult sections.

KSC Library Information

The Library is open at lunch time for study, reading, and borrowing books.

Study Hall - students can use the Library afterschool for study, using the computers, and printing.

Students can borrow 2 books at a time, for 2 weeks.
