Welcome - in Brief!

It’s about Donvale now and it’s about Donvale then. And it’s about where you, our alumni, are acting justly, loving mercy and walking humbly.

Tim Dehn - Community Relations Manager

Change. That seems to be the word for this edition of Now and Then,

as we've watched - and heard! - heavy trucks and machinery all around the construction zone that will become our new Community Hub; dedicated a new Year 9 campus a few minutes drive from here (read more later in this magazine); planned then postponed public events like Founders Day; and enjoyed what felt like normality for a term and a bit, only to be tumbled once again into lockdown and distance learning.

Some highlights in this issue - follow the links for videos:

  • Celebrating a Concrete Slab
  • Rain-soaked in the High Country - a must read is the poem by Sarah Strybosch
  • A new campus for the Year 9 Experience
  • Meet a young National Spelling Champion
  • Success at the State Jazz Championships for our star vocal ensemble, The Altonatives
  • Dedicating a Whole New Campus for Year 9
  • As well as Podcasts, the intersection of Dogs and Prayer, and a brave alumna In the Spotlight!

Finally - after a frustrating 2020 when we were unable to invite you to anything at all, this year we are hoping and praying for better things, so reunions are planned for the next few months. If any of these are your years - save the date now! - and Like our Facebook page for the events, links to Trybooking pages and other news.
