MPS TURNS GREEN AND GOLD

On Friday 30 July we painted Murrumbeena Primary School in green and gold in support of our Australian Olympic Team.

The students immersed themselves in green and gold and enjoyed the many activities that were on offer on the day, which included skipping, a dance party, basketball shoot out, four square, hula hooping and their new favourite game, ‘Roadblock.’

As a school, it was great to come together and celebrate our athletes, who represented us so proudly in Tokyo.

Thank you to all of the teachers and educational support staff who supported the day.

TERM 2 HIGHLIGHTS

Term 2 was an extremely busy term for the Prep to Grade 2 students. With another full term of an action-packed physical education program with the following programs being incorporated:

The Mascot Challenge

Over the course of the term, Prep to Grade 2 students enjoyed participating in The Mascot Challenge, sponsored by Cricket Australia, Woolworths and Melbourne Stars, as part of the physical education program.

Every week, they were presented with many challenges to improve their fundamental motor skills including throwing, catching and bouncing skills.

On return to the classroom, each participant will receive a certificate, stickers and a ball to take home so they can continue practising these skills.

AFL Auskick Clinics

As part of the physical education program and with affiliation with the AFL Development Team, students from Prep to Grade 2 were involved in a modified Auskick program. The fun and engaging activities focused on handballing, marking and kicking.

It was great to see many of our students developing and mastering the skills that were presented. A lot of fun was had by all.

We look forward to continue this affiliation with the Cricket Australia and the AFL next year and beyond.
