DIVERSITY DASH
DIVERSITY WALL
To celebrate the diverse and inclusive nature of our school community, KSC planned a Diversity Dash for all students on Friday 14th October. The planned event included a short running course around the school filled with coloured powder, obstacles, and fun challenges. It was designed to show how all people are part of the Korumburra Secondary College family, and explicitly celebrated the diversity we have in our community in terms of cultural heritage, LGBTQIA+ identity, First Nations heritage, physical and intellectual ability and disability, age, and more. Sadly, some challenging weather rolled through which prevented the full event from running as planned. However, students still took time out of their class to add to the new Diversity Wall. This brightly coloured wall at the end of the A-wing now features some graffiti artwork by select year 9 students and a dazzling array of colourful handprints from our staff and student body. Paints and supplies were generously donated by Mitre 10 Leongatha (coloured paint) and Wonthaggi Bunnings (spray paint and paint trays).
We thank everyone for their warmth and enthusiasm on this wonderful day.
