2023 Enrolment

Our school is finalising enrolments for 2023. Proudly, we continue to be a school of choice in the area and are at or very near to capacity in Years Prep, 1, 2, 3, and 5.

Consistent with DET’s Priority Order of Placement, students for whom the school is the designated neighbourhood school will always be accepted in any level with out-of-area students only being accepted if there is a vacancy at that year level.

Families not returning to Croydon Hills Primary School next year are asked to inform our enrolments officer Robyn Miller Robyn.Miller@education.vic.gov.au at their earliest convenience.

Road Safety and Traffic Update

Last term the school partnered with the Maroondah Council with the vision of enhancing the safe movement of our community around the school. This work is ongoing, with conversations centred around streamlining traffic movement with the hope of creating more flow.  I will keep you updated on any changes in the coming newsletters.

In the meantime, I expect council officers will continue to patrol the area, enforcing parking violations.  A summary of the key road rules in Victoria relative to parking is available on the Vic Roads website here.

Facilities Update

Over the holidays Kim oversaw several grounds projects that will enhance the daily life of our students, staff, and the broader community.

  • Installation of ‘The Pod’ at the front of the school. This small room will be used for our returning maternity leave staff that are still lactating (expressing) and, when not being used for that purpose, a room for our partnering allied health professionals to meet with students for therapy or assessment.
  • Extension of the school’s northern driveway with asphalt now extending into the farm and around to join the western pathways and buildings.
  • Reinstatement of retaining walls in Prep, Senior and on the bottom basketball court. A sealed level for seating will complete this project in the coming week.
  • New sand in the Prep/Junior sandpit.
  • Annual testing and tagging of all electrical appliances in the school
  • Door reinstatement and lock installation on old or damaged doors.

Thank you Kim for the tremendous job you do caring for and managing our school’s facilities.
