Senior School

It was a genuine pleasure this week to welcome our new Support Dog, Chanel (aka Rosie) to the Senior School as part of a pilot program that will be operating over the next twelve months. Rosie was introduced on Assembly on Wednesday morning and has proven to be an immediate hit with students and staff alike. Rosie will be accompanying Zoe, one of our Year 11 students, to classes and in the playground throughout the next twelve months.

A growing body of research shows that support animals can have an immensely positive impact on both individual and community wellbeing, reducing stress, anxiety and depression. After a challenging couple of years, such an addition to our community is most welcome!

We hope that if this pilot program is successful, we might consider adopting a Support Dog on a permanent basis at BMGS in the future.
