Art Room News

Creativity takes courage. Henri Matisse

Hello RHPS Artists,

Currently the art room is FULL of fabulous artwork in the making!

The Grade 3/4 student's have their imaginations on full speed as they continue to construct their steampunk Lost Things. The use of recycled materials has been amazing and soon we will begin to paint these creatures and use dry brushing techniques to give them a rusty appearance.

Our Grade 5/6 student's self-portraits are blowing me away each week and I think many students have surprised themselves with their brilliant drawing skills. As we complete the drawing component, many students have begun the painting process and moving onto the extremely fun gelli plate printing. We can't wait to share these.

Grade 6 Legacy is underway!!!

This Tuesday we filled the art room with our Grade 6 artists and they all made a beautiful clay star which will become a piece for this year's art legacy. This is an individual piece that will be placed in a special spot on our school walls.

This year our motto is, 'Reach for the Stars', which we encourage all of our wonderful Grade 6's to do as they venture onto their next years of schooling.

SAVE THE DATE!

A little reminder to save the date for this year's Art Show and Carols Night on Monday the 12th of December. It's been a longtime since our last Christmas event and we are very excited to bring it back!

Have a fantastic week and KEEP CREATING!
