Performing Arts

In Class:

This term, students in grades 3-6 have been working on a drama unit. Students in Grade 3 and 4 have been learning about improvisation through theatre sports and drama games. Coming up with ideas on the spot is tricky but students are developing their skills and improve every week. Perhaps they could teach you one of the games we have been playing and you can test your skills!

Grade 5 and 6 students have been working on creating a short play based on picture storybooks. They have been developing their acting skills and learning about dramatic elements to include in their work.

Christmas Celebration:

In the next couple of weeks, students will begin to rehearse their class Christmas carols in preparation for our Christmas Celebration on Monday 12th December! It will be a brilliant evening of art, music and food.

Brass Ensemble:

Our partnership with Mooroolbark College has allowed an enthusiastic group of Grade 5 and 6 students the opportunity to learn either the trumpet or trombone this semester. Our brass ensemble is progressing so well that our students have been invited to perform at the Mooroolbark College Summer Music Concert on Monday 5th December. This is a fantastic opportunity for our students to showcase their skills and celebrate their learning with the wider community.
