Principal Report 

Dear families,

I did not think they would be sharing such sad news again this year. I just want to share that our shared love and care goes out to the Binding family and their wider circle of friends and families. Please trust that we will be there for that family over the coming days, weeks and months.

Curriculum Day

I would like to share our appreciation for last Thursday to you for the care of your child while we had our last writing professional learning session of the year with Misty Adoniou. As I shared in our last newsletter the writing results for our students across the school are growing. The highlight being our grade 5 data moving from 15% to 33% for our students being 12 months ahead. We will continue to strive to increase and improve writing based on this professional learning and others.

Prep Transition Day

On the same day we hosted our new prep students for a 'Marvelous Maths' session where they created their own math shaped monster. They had a great time. Thank you to the prep team who stayed behind to run the session for the students. They are showing that they are all school ready!

Laptops

We have had many successes this week with our laptops moving from boxes to little hands, with a few hiccups along the way. We hope we got the majority of the decisions right for our families. We will now focus on making sure the approach is effective and sustainable. Please reach out if you have any feedback that will help us. Thank you to Mr Taylor and Mr Worth for their time, as well as a host of others who have all chipped in with their help and support. 

Swimming Week

On the horizon we have swimming week. The timetable will be changed to accommodate this.  It is natural for children (and parents) to be anxious about swimming week. 

Thinking positively, it is a great chance to start to build those resilience skills that are formed in these early years by supporting your child to attend swimming week. Once they get their toe in the water, they will have an amazing week. This year we have funded swimming completely due to it not running last year.

A reminder that any class placement requests for your child need to be emailed to the office by Friday 4th November.
