Australian Mathematics Competition

During Term 3, 25 of our students from Years 7 to 10 took part in the Australian Mathematics Competition. To prepare for this, our students spent several weeks working through past and practice problems, and unpacking various strategies to solve these problems collaboratively.

We would like to celebrate how deeply each of these students engaged with this high abilities program, and to celebrate their collective achievements.

Overall:

• 1 student received a High Distinction Certificate (top 3% of the competition
• 5 students received Distinction Certificates (top 20% of competition)
• 13 students received Credit Certificates (top 55% of competition)
• 6 students received Proficiency in Mathematics Skills and Problem Solving Certificates (which is recognition that they have reached a satisfactory level of mathematical and problem solving skills by Australian standards)

We were thrilled by the way our students rose to the challenge and engaged with this competition, and look forward to taking what we have learned into our preparations for the 2023 competition.
