Band Recruitment Night

(for students in Grades 3-6, 2023)

When:     Monday 21 November

Where:    BPS Multi-Purpose Room

Time:       5.30pm

Who:   Anyone who would like to be part of the BPS Band Program next year (Grades 3-6 in 2023)

Bring:  a pen, your child - yes, they can see and hear the instruments in action

On Recruitment Night you will:

  • discover how learning an instrument can benefit your brain
  • hear demonstrations of instruments by students and instrumental teachers (percussion, trumpet, trombone, saxophone, clarinet, flute, acoustic guitar and bass guitar)
  • hear performances from the Symphonic Band and Advanced Guitar Ensemble
  • have the opportunity to chat to our instrumental teachers (they’ll all be there to answer your questions)
  • be provided with information about tuition and uniform costs
  • have a representative from a local music shop to discuss instruments with you
  • be able to choose your preferred instruments and sign up for the 2023 Band Program

Having our Recruitment Night allows you, as parents, the opportunity to purchase an instrument for your child as a present at the end of the year, while also enabling our band students (new and returning) to begin their instrumental lessons earlier in Term 1.

Note that having the Band Recruitment Night this year means that we won't be doing the recruitment process again next year. So, please, do come along on Monday 21 November if you are thinking of joining the band!

….. and finally – please encourage your children to check out the amazing instrumental videos in the Grades 1-6 Showbie Music Folder ‘Instruments Rock!’ I hope that some of these videos ignite a musical spark in our newest band recruits!

We can't wait to see you at Band Recruitment Night!
