HOUSE CROSS COUNTRY
Our annual house cross-country run in perfect conditions. Many thanks to Mary Mackillop for their setting up and the great help and support given to the primary schools on the day and also the good number of parents who were able to assist. The course was both varied and challenging with runners wanting to qualify for division having to both complete the race in the first three places of their age group and also achieving a qualifying time.
The under 9/10 years ran 2 kilometres whilst the 11's and 12/13's ran 3 kilometres. The children's efforts were pleasing and they are to be congratulated on their hard work to complete the course to the best of their ability. The under 10's group in particular, had many strong performers with 10 x girls and 17 x boys achieving the qualifying time.
Under 9/10:
1st Aiden Cook, 2nd Kade White, 3rd Leo Johnson;
1st Kiara Van Dillen, 2nd Chelsea Launder, 3rd Jenna Kooloos.
Under 11:

Division Cross Country - Stony Creek
Last Thursday 25th May saw the South Gippsland Division Cross- Country take place in windy conditions at Stony Creek. The runners had a new track from previous years for the 2km & 3km runs which was certainly better for spectator viewing and probably the competitors.
Races had between 60 & 70 entrants and the first 12 qualified to run the regional championships at the Drouin Golf Club next Thursday, 1st June.
St. Laurence's had seven students who qualified. All of our runners worked hard and were good ambassadors for the school. It was pleasing to see the number of parents at Stony Creek.

Mother’s Day Blessing Prayer
On Mother’s Day, we pray for blessings on all women who have loved and nurtured us throughout our lives. We give thanks for the mothers who have guided and protected us, who have taught and encouraged us.
We give thanks for mothers who have passed away, birth mothers, adoptive mothers, foster mothers, grandmothers, aunties, sisters, and for all women who take on a motherly role.
We ask your blessing, dear Lord, upon mothers who have lost children, that they may have your continuing strength and courage. We ask your blessing too, upon those who would like to be mothers. Pour your blessings upon all women here today. Give them the strength to live the faithful and loving lives you call them to live. Protect and guide them. Keep them in your care.
Our Lady, a role model for all women, pray for us.
Amen.
