Year 3/4 Report

What an exciting term this has been. The 3/4 students have been working exceptionally hard in being active and enthusiastic learners.

This Term, 3/4 students have been exploring various ways in which consumption can impact the environment. Students are now in the ‘Taking Action’ stage of our ‘Sustainability’ Inquiry topic, and have begun planning for an end of term project where they will be transforming a discarded household item into a new repurposed item. Through the exploration of various texts, such as A Planet Full of Plastic and The Water Princess, students have been able to recognise and identify ways in which consumption affects the planet and people.

Recently the school celebrated Education Week where students were encouraged to make, move and motivate. Students made turtles out of paddle pop sticks and yarn, they moved by playing tennis rounders and demonstrated motivation by working with their buddies to give nature a voice on how it would feel when humans are interacting with it. Students were given the opportunity to reflect on how these three aspects are important for their learning.

We look forward to sharing the projects students create for Inquiry at the end of this Term.
