SEMESTER 1 REPORTS

We are currently in the thick of finalising student reports for Semester 1 2023. Schools are required to formally report student achievement and progress to parents/carers at least twice per school year for each student enrolled at the school.

What to expect:

Schools are legally required to report directly against the Victorian Curriculum F-10 achievement standards. In each school report, there will be a sections that outline:

  • What has been taught in English, Mathematics, Personal and Social Capabilities, Specialist classes and any other identified curriculum areas
  • What your child has achieved (from the set achievement standards)
  • Areas for future improvement (from the set achievement standards)
  • A score against the achievement standards, that accurately reflects where each student is along the relevant learning continuum for all curriculum areas taught during Semester 1.

How to access reports:

Reports will be released digitally during Week 9, via Compass.

After reports are released:

There will be an opportunity for parents/carers  to discuss the school report with classroom teachers. This will take place as a parent-teacher conference early in Term 3. More information will be sent out via Compass in the coming weeks.

RIDE TO SCHOOL DAY

This term the JSC have organised a Ride2School Day for Thursday 15th June 2023.

We encourage all students with their parents or carers to leave the car at home and give riding, walking, scooting or skating to school a go (weather permitting). It is the perfect opportunity to establish healthy habits and promote the many benefits of active travel. Not only is active travel good for our health, but it’s also great for the environment!

If possible, we encourage students to bring in a gold coin donation to help raise money for a new bike stand at Aberfeldie Primary School.  Parent/carer supervision is encouraged when students are riding, walking, scooting or skating to and from school.

We look forward to seeing our community get involved!

Thank you,

Daniella Babic

In Week 6, Aberfeldie recognized National Reconciliation Week.  Across the week, students participated in a range of learning opportunities focused on this years theme 'Be a Voice for Generations'. At Aberfeldie, we believe that we all play a role when it comes to reconciliation, and in playing our part we collectively build relationships and communities that value Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, histories, cultures, and futures.

YEAR 1/2 COMMUNITY ACTION

In Term 1, all year levels at Aberfeldie inquired into the concept of community. The Year 1/2 students investigated the concept of belongings and the local communities they are a part of.  As part of their action, students created a self portrait that was used to make a tea towel showing everyone in our 1/2 community. This week, the tea towels finally arrived! Check out some excited & proud students below.
