National Sorry Day & Reconciliation Week

Our Sea of Hearts display is well and truly taking off, thank you to the students and families who have decorated a heart and answered the question ‘What does reconciliation mean to you?', if you haven't already done so, please take a heart and spend some time thinking about your answer!

We have loved listening to the students answers so far and have been blown away by their artistic flair!

What a great week to get back in our garden and plant our new Indigenous species.

Students are super excited for the Athropodium strictum (Chocolate Lily) to begin flowering, we must admit us educators are pretty excited about the chocolate scented flowers too!

Fun facts about the Chocolate Lily; the species flowers from Sept – Dec and then dies back to tubers, the Boon Wurrung people cooked and ate the tubers as a source of carbohydrate -similar to a carrot or potato.

Thank you to the Bayside Indigenous Nursery for once again sharing their wealth of knowledge with us and supporting us with our plant selections!

Goodbye and Goodluck Ivy

We would like to say a big congratulations to Ivy who has accepted a CRT position at a primary school in Noble Park. The students are already missing Ivy and the wonderful craft activities that she had been organising at OSHC. We wish Ivy all the best in her teaching career!

Reminder

It is really important that you let us know prior to the session if your child will not be attending after school care. Unfortunately, we spend a lot of time chasing up absences after school and this is taking away time from other activities. You can let us know of an absence by calling the mobile number 0484 916 457 or by emailing oshc@beaumarisnorthps.vic.edu.au

Outside Play

At BNPS OSHC we offer opportunities for children to go outside and participate in physical activities and play as a way of promoting and maintaining healthy habits and developing social skills with their peers.

Even if it’s cold we allow children the choice of indoor or outdoor play. Please encourage your child to bring extra clothing such as a jacket for outdoor play at OSHC particularly in these colder months.

Child Care Subsidy

Balancing Deadlines Approaching

At the end of the financial year, which is 30 June, Services Australia compares your income estimate with your actual income to check you got the right amount of Child Care Subsidy (CCS). This is called balancing.

You need to confirm your family’s income before Services Australia can balance your payments. There are deadlines.

One Year After The Financial Year Ends

You have one year to confirm your income.

If you don’t confirm your income within 12 months after the end of a financial year your CCS will stop and you’ll have to pay full fees for child care.

If you got CCS for 2021–22 you have until 30 June 2023 to confirm your income.

Two Years After The Financial Year Ends

If you still haven’t confirmed your income two years after a financial year ends you may have to repay any CCS you received for that financial year.

If you haven’t confirmed your income for 2020–21 you must do so by 30 June 2023.

How To Confirm Income

Confirm your income by:
