School Counsellor

We are lucky to have Melanie D’Vaz, our school counsellor for this year.  Here are the details of some of the different areas she can provide support for our students.

Sometimes children and young people find living in our demanding, complex world

difficult to negotiate. This can impact their social, emotional and educational

development. School Counselling is a confidential service offered at our school to assist students that may be experiencing difficulties with issues such as:

  • Conflict, anger, grief and loss
  • Anxiety and low mood or depression,
  • School refusal
  • Developmental and learning concerns,
  • Family changes such as separation or divorce
  • Social skills, peer relationships and bullying
  • Behavioural challenges

Melanie is available at the school on Monday, each week.

Please call, email or pop in for a chat with Kate (Wellbeing & RE Leader) if you would like to find out more about the school counselling program. kharris@shpreston.catholic.edu.au

FREE E-Safety Webinars

Children are using technology and social media more and more and the e-Safety Commission have a number of Free e-Safety parent and carer webinars this term. They are designed to inform parents and keep our children safe online and look really worthwhile. There are a number of times, topics and dates available.

Take Care,
