Year 4

Year 4 have been using a variety of strategies to multiply two digit numbers with a one digit number. In particular, the students have been focusing on ‘Area Model’ and the ‘Split Strategy’. Last week, students played a game of Maths Soccer. It was Liverpool Vs Chelsea, with one team being ‘Area Model’ and another being the ‘Split Strategy’. Whichever team was able to solve the multiplication problem scored the goal. It went all the way to penalty shoot-out, with Chelsea winning by one goal!
