Media Night

The Library Courtyard was a great setting for this year’s Media night that showcased the many talents of our students. Congratulations to all involved on some entertaining films, documentaries, and film trailers.

Sharing Italian Picture Books

Ms Lucas’ Year 7 Italian class met with Ms Nish’s excited Year 2 class on the Chapel Lawn for a shared lesson this week. The Year 7s created Italian picture books and were happy to read and share their stories with our Year 2 students. After which the group celebrated with an icy pole.

NAS Golf

One Tuesday 27 October, we had four representatives driving, chipping and putting their way around Wembley Golf Complex (Tuart Course) for the 2020 NAS Golf Tournament.

Blessed with beautiful weather, the tournament was a slightly different format this year, trialing a 2 ball ambrose where players perform in pairs and take their best shot from the two balls played. All in Year 7, our representatives performed to a high standard with little experience to draw on and conducted themselves impeccably. In the lead up to the tournament the squad training sessions were very well attended with a total of fifteen students being involved. We were also very fortunate to have the presence of former professional golfer and current General Manager of Mt Lawley Golf Club, Troy O’Hern on hand to assist with their skill and etiquette development. His experience and demeanour with our students was so very valuable and much appreciated. Eventual winners on the day were Newman College from Sacred Heart College, with John XXIII College finishing third.

Pictured below are our tournament players (from left): Lucas O’Hern, Callum de Andrade, Kai Bardetta and Axel Wood.

Ross Meadows Shield

On Thursday 29 October our Year 7-9 mixed junior hockey team travelled to the UWA Hockey Fields to compete in the 2020 Ross Meadows Shield Hockey competition. The weather conditions could not have been more perfect for the games played by our team to finish in third position overall for the day. The team coach, Mr Joshua Bowen was impressed with our students enthusiasm, sportsmanship and comradery between the different age groups throughout all games. It’s excellent to see so many strong junior hockey players within our College. These students will have the opportunity to trial for our Senior ACC Hockey teams in 2021. Congratulations to Mr Bowen and all of our hockey players for their outstanding efforts on the day.
