An interesting read: Jobs Reset

Why ‘intentional learning’ is the most important skill to learn right now

  • By 2022, 133 million new jobs could be created by the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
  • As a result, we are in the middle of a global reskilling emergency.
  • ‘Intentional learning’ is the most important skill to acquire in this new digital age, according to a McKinsey report.
  • At its heart, it’s about treating every experience as an opportunity to learn.

The most important skill to acquire in our new digital age? Surprisingly, it’s the ability to learn.

In a recent report, McKinsey describes ‘intentional learning’ as the most fundamental skill for professionals to cultivate in the coming decades, saying that: “Few adults have been trained in the core skills and mindsets of effective learners”.

New National Careers Website

The National Careers Institute has released a new career information website, designed to assist people of all ages to plan, navigate and manage their careers.

The website offers reliable and accurate labour market data and information on the

skilling and re-training operations available post COVID-19.

School Leavers Information support is available here. The website is available at http://www.nci.dese.gov.au

On the site you can find a School Leavers Information Kit that pulls together information from the site for students graduating from school this year.

There is also a School Leavers Information Service which will provide school leavers with phone, text or email support to navigate the School Leavers Information Kit, and to access and use the Your Career website.

The service also offers a personalised career guidance session with a qualified career practitioner for up to 45 minutes, where needed.

The site has an Australia wide focus and Western Australian training information tends to go onto the Jobs and Skills site.
