Newlands Read-a-Thon

Let’s all take a moment to feel proud of the amazing effort by our students that read many books and raised money for the school library.

Inquiry – Similarities and differences

The F1 students have continued working on identifying what characteristics are similar and different amongst us. This time, our families took part in it and uploaded their most loving pictures on Seesaw. We thank all families for sharing with us their memorable moments, allowing our students to describe differences and similarities and compare them with other families.

Mi Ciudad

In writing, our students continued to solidify the sense of community from the Inquiry by exploring the vocabulary of places in town in Spanish.

It all began with: En la ciudad hay…. (In the city there is)…..

The activity turned out amusing as they could make easy connections with English words, making them easy to remember:

Supermercado – supermarket

Parque – park

Gasolinera – gas station

Hospital – hospital

Cine – cinema/movies

Estación de policía – police station
