Catholic Identity

Mercy Prayer
We pray for the Sisters of Mercy, who established our school and for the priests who have served at St. Mary’s.
It is through their vision, determination and strong faith that we enjoy the benefits of a Catholic Education here in Mooroopna.
We are proud to be a Mercy School, where the values of love and justice are taught and lived every day.
End of Year Liturgy - Friday 11th December
(replacing our end-of -year Mass)
Our end-of-year Mass and presentations has unfortunately had to be replaced by an online video presentation.
The prayers and Gospel reading etc, address from Monsignor Peter and other presentations will all be pre-taped. The taping will also include the announcement of Vinnie Award recipients , Giving Tree presentation and acknowledgement of leaving families and staff. A link will be posted on ----------- for families to view from Friday.
Founder's Day
Founders Day is a celebration of the Mercy Sisters who established our school, and an opportunity to reflect on our school’s story.
On Monday 30th November, all children gathered across their Units in House Teams for a short liturgy and video presentation. The children decorated a bunting flag in their team colour which was displayed around the school.
St. Mary's Giving Tree
Our “Giving Tree” is set up in the school foyer. We are asking families to donate a gift that will be passed onto families in need, this Christmas.
Please label the gift as suitable for a boy or a girl and what age.
Please send gifts to the school office prior to Friday 11thDec.
Your generous donations will be passed onto St. Vinnies and
this allows them time to sort and distribute the gifts before Christmas.
If you don't have a chance to go shopping to buy a gift, you may choose to send a donation, in an envelope, to the Office - marked "Giving Tree" and we will put a 'tree tag' on our tree acknowledging your donation.
This is a very positive way to show the less fortunate in our community, that we care.
