VCAL

Term 3 and the beginning of Term 4 has seen the VCAL students running their community projects. VS3 raised awareness about mental health. They organised for Lara from Headspace to come to help plan their event. Headspace had a stall, VS3 students provided a sausage sizzle and held a “throw a wet sponge at a teacher” event. All of which was a great success.

VS1 arranged a food drive and invited junior school students to a presentation about FARESHARE. This is a charity they visited that collects food which would otherwise be wasted and makes meals to give to the homeless or to charities who then distribute it to families. They donated 75 kg of pasta, flour and tinned tomatoes to FARESHARE.

VS2 visited a retirement village and interacted with the residents there. The students cooked a sausage sizzle and sang songs.

VI1 and VI2 were involved in a HPV (Human Powered Vehicle) class vs class competition. They had three session at Casey Fields Criterium Circuit where students organised different events for their fellow class mates, event included a drag race, obstacle courses, time trials, and relays.  VI4 students brought the Cranbourne Regional Uniting Church Food Truck to the school at lunchtime. Concluding their community focus on food wastage.

All the projects were a great success well done to the students for planning such engaging events.
