Junior School Report

The Junior School has been very productive over the last few weeks. As we near the end of term there are more programs and activities which our students are involved in.

Digital Thumb Print

Our Year 7 and 8 students have participated in this great Program brought to us by OPTUS. Students were taught how to be aware of their online presence and keeping passwords safe.  They were also taught about Cyber safety.

DOXA Leadership Program

On 28 June to 30 August, two groups of Year 8 students graduated from their two-year leadership program with DOXA.

During the program, the students attended eight workshops and two residential weekends along with two other schools – Buckley Park College and Essendon Keilor College.

Students developed their confidence in learning, leadership and making positive life choices. During the workshops, they had external presenters to provide students with the knowledge and skills to address issues such as bullying, peer pressure, drugs, alcohol, stress, mental health issues and ways to be productive global citizens.

Parent Teacher Interviews

Parent Teacher Interviews were held on Wednesday, 19 September and students and parents received feedback. It was nice to meet with families of our students to discuss their child’s progress. If you would like to further discuss any concern with your coordinators please arrange an appointment.

Sport

We have had a number of students represent the school in Sport over the last few weeks. Athletics, Soccer and Volleyball has been keenly represented and we are very proud of the students who did us proud.

Year 8 Information Evening

Many parents and students attended the Parent Information evening and attended the sausage sizzle. Parents were informed about our well Being Program and Camps which start in Term 4. Students also received their course books to select their subjects for Year 9.

Reminder -LATENESS

Just a reminder that students who are late to school in the morning will be required to attend detention.  It is important for our students to be punctual in the morning and in class on time. Learning time is valuable and avoiding disruptions is important.

Are you planning on changing schools next year?

If you are moving schools next year please inform your child’s coordinator early in term 4 so that necessary paperwork can be completed.

Enjoy the Holidays

We hope all students and families enjoy the Term 3 holidays.  We look forward to seeing you all back next term.
