On 3 of September, the Year 7 statewide maths games day presented by MAV was held at Overnewton College, Taylor’s Lakes. The competition consisted of 50 teams pitted against each other from schools around Victoria competing in a whole range of maths activities; problem solving, maths relay, origami and games of strategies.

Four students from Year 7 represented St Albans Secondary College: Dragon Fan, Teresa Iskandar, Jacqueline Tran and Grace Wong. After working tireless all day with the activities, we didn't finish in the top 3 but I’m glad everyone that came to the maths games day had fun, and it was great to see my students use the knowledge learnt in class to solve enriching maths problems. Let’s go again next year!
