This Semester Year 10 students have been learning how to use 3D software to create digital models with the intention to make their own models in wood. Learning multiple tools, techniques and practising exercises was a challenge and sometimes difficult. At first, I was concerned that students struggled. With dedicated time, fast computers loaded with appropriate software and great support from the IT department, students are now confident, capable and quick. Students are to be congratulated in overcoming multiple obstacles – one being their own understanding of the changes in the industry and where 3D modelling sits.
