Work Experience and Career Education

My name is Annemarie Holmyard and I have worked at Concord School for the past 13 years in various roles across the school. These have included Secondary 7/8, Upper Primary and Secondary 11/12. I have been in the Careers teaching role since 2014 and the Work Placement coordinating role since 2016.

My role includes the delivery of Career Education to years 9-12 and the coordination of Work Placements from Year 11.

I am excited and passionate about linking our young people and their families with employment and assisting in giving them the skills that they will need for their future career development.

I am available at the school on Tuesdays – Thursdays from 10 am- 2:40pm. If you would like to contact me outside of those hours please email me: holmyard.annemarie.a@edumail.vic.gov.au

Work Placement Update

At Concord School, we currently offer Work Placements for students in the Secondary Year 11/12 section. These placements are tailored to student interests, skills and abilities. They cross all industries and sectors and are aimed at giving students an opportunity to experience employment, apply their work skills and have an introduction to working for an employer.

In Term 2, John Wallis completed his Work Placement at Plenty Valley Target. His tasks included stock replenishment, facing up and stacking products on the trolley to be taken to the shop floor.

‘I enjoyed working in the storeroom and with the staff at Target’. John says that he would recommend this placement to other students interested in working in the Retail industry.

John applied the skills of teamwork, following instructions and his learnings about the world of work from his classes at Concord School during his placement.

He hopes to spend his hard-earned money on a new Lego set.

Careers and Transition Co-ordinator

I am Rhiannon Campbell and I am pleased to have gained the role of Careers and Transitions Coordinator at Concord School. I have been fortunate enough to work at Concord school for 11 years, across all three of the Secondary sections of the school. I now have the opportunity to assist with post school transitioning for the Secondary 11/12 students and families. This also involves exploring further education and employment opportunities for students when they leave Concord School. In the months to come I will be profiling many Post School Providers and will keep you informed of what is on offer in our area.

I genuinely look forward to having the opportunity to meet you in person.

If you would like to meet with me, please feel free to do so by contacting the school during school hours or via email: campbell.rhiannon.r@edumail.vic.gov.au
