Pupil Free Day

This is just a final reminder that next Monday 16th November is a Pupil Free day. On this day all sections will be planning their programs for 2016 and finalising class arrangements.  In the afternoon the whole staff will be engaged in Anaphylaxis training.

New School Entrance

The new school entrance with its associated pathways and landscaping was opened this week. It has not only improved the appearance of the school but the new pathways have made it easier to move around the school. The ‘before and after’ photos below tell the story.

Watsonia RSL Scholarship

Hardial and Charlotte from Upper Primary have been awarded scholarships by the Watsonia RSL that will assist them with future educational expenses. The scholarships recognise the leadership, mateship and work ethic demonstrated by these students.

Chris Norman, Melissa Rofe, Rachael McKeown and I attended the Remembrance Day service and ceremony at the Watsonia RSL on Wednesday 11th November.

The school community is extremely proud of these students.

Annual Christmas Concert

This year the Annual Christmas Concert will be held on the evening of Monday 30th November on the Loyola Oval which is at the rear of our Bundoora Campus in Gleeson Drive, Bundoora. It seems very early as it is still November however it is on Monday of the third last week as it has been in recent years.

It is important that all students from Prep-Year 10 attend on this evening as the classes have spent considerable time rehearsing their items and they require all students to be present. As well as class performances and the BBQ there will be a visit from a special man who has a beard and wears a red suit!

The evening will start at 5.00pm with live entertainment from our school band ‘Unbroken’, with the concert commencing at 6.00pm. Once again the Family and Friends and helpers are organising the barbecue which will commence serving at 5.00pm and will finish at 6.30pm. This will allow all the volunteers time to have their meal and to be ready to enjoy watching the concert.

If the concert is cancelled due to the weather, it will be held the following morning at 9.15am in the Performing Arts Centre at the Bundoora Campus featuring student performances and awards only.

We look forward to seeing many family and friends coming along to enjoy a great evening.

Thank You to our Volunteers

The Volunteers' Morning Tea will be held at 10.30am on Wednesday 18th November in the Discovery Centre at the Bundoora Campus. Where possible, staff will join the volunteers to show their appreciation to this group of dedicated individuals who generously give their time to assist our students and staff.

Attention All Parents/Carers

Update of Student Information - It is vital that we have accurate information about your child, especially medical details and emergency contact numbers. Before the last school holidays a printout of this information was sent home to you in an envelope. You were asked to read through this information, make any necessary changes and return to the office of your campus a.s.a.p. If you have lost or misplaced this printout, please contact the school office and we will organise to have another one sent home to you.

Accessing the School Bus

I would like to remind parents/carers that if you are thinking of changing your address you must remember that to access our buses you must reside within the Designated Transport Zone (DTZ).  IF YOU MOVE OUTSIDE THIS ZONE, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ACCESS OUR BUSES.

You can ring the office any time to check on the zone and Carmel Hunter (Transport Coordinator) will only be too happy to give you any information.

If you change any transport arrangements regarding your child, it is imperative that you notify Carmel as well as the bus supervisor ASAP.
