Collection Drive for the ASRC
This term the Philanthropy Team will be running a collection drive for the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre. The ASRC supports those seeking asylum in Australia, through direct aid, health and welfare care.
Many asylum seekers do not have access to jobs, and as result income, so that cannot provide their families with resources that we need in daily life. So the ASRC provide asylum seekers with many resources including everyday items that we may take for granted, such as soap and toothbrushes.
The Philanthropy Team would like to collect as much as possible, to help those seeking Asylum in Australia. The things that our school is collecting are blankets, toothpaste, toothbrushes, soaps, shampoo and conditioner, washing powder and dishwasher powder and also gift cards for supermarkets. No clothes please. There will be a collection box in ROOM 109. Thank you so much for your support.

Rotary Club of Richmond Performance
During the school holidays the MGC Show Choir and the String Band were invited to perform at the Rotary Club of Richmond Changeover event. The String Band provided beautiful music during drinks and canapés, while the Show Choir performed a set in between courses. Both groups were well received and performed confidently and musically. We are very grateful for the opportunity to increase the students’ performance experience and to foster good relations with the Rotary Club. Students who were involved were: Michelle Lee, Emily Chong, Erika Bannwart, Portia Frayne, Claudia Carlton-Allen, Matilda Smithers, Ruby Lund, Claudia Marangoni, Sophie Townsend, Katy Anderson, Varaidzo Chipunza and Alice Pidd-Davey.
Ellyce Calder, Wen Chin and Kristen Rowlands.
