Our Catholic Community
Our Mini Vinnies and Secondary Vinnies Chapters teamed up to support the St Vincent de Paul Winter Appeal. Students from K-10 wore blue and white to school and during morning tea taped teachers to a pole. Mrs Jagers was a last minute addition to the teachers whose names were randomly selected during Monday morning assembly. The 'fun'-draiser raised close to $1000 for our local SVDP chapter. Thank you to all staff, students and the school community who were integral in the success of the day.
Some students braved the cold conditions and 'slept out' to raise awareness for SVDP and their winter appeal, mirroring the CEO winter sleepout Vinnies coordinates.

Thank you all for the generous support to get behind our school community.
Mini Vinnies and Secondary Vinnies student representatives were presented with their badges by Moree Vinnies Chapter President, Colleen Nash, on Monday 24th June.
Thank you to our representatives for their hard work and being instrumental in getting our Winter Appeal up and running, also volunteering their time to help with the taping.
Next, St Philomena's Vinnies will be coordinating a 'dignity' bag which we will give to the Moree shop to give to those who may need some essentials, like deoderant and a toothbrush.

a prayer for healing...
God of Mercy and Compassion,
Our hearts too, are heavy with the pain of our people.
We are sorry.
Hopelessness and despair of life has caused much hurt and anger.
They have lost their way.
We ask you to touch the hearts of our broken people.
Mend their paths and walk with them.
May they feel the Spirit of our Ancestors.
May the Spirit of our Ancestors strengthen and guide us,
On our journey back to the light of hope,
And the love of life in Christ
Amen.
