Principal's Message

Twelve months is a long time in schools and there usually is a great deal of development throughout this period of time. Twelve months ago we were preparing for a whole school review where we measured ourselves against certain criteria in rubrics covering:

• Religious Dimension
• Learning and Teaching
• Student Wellbeing
• Leadership and Management
• School Community

External reviewers visited the College and validated our responses and suggested recommendations that would provide for school improvement into the future. A working group of staff then had the responsibility to obtain further information and collate ideas into a workable platform to address the hopes and dreams of our College. The result of the work of this team is energising, filled with creativity and inclusive of the whole community. Consequently we are now in a position to present to you updated Vision and Mission Statements, a new School Improvement Plan 2022 – 2025, and the Annual Action Plan 2022. 

Our Vision Statement is an aspirational statement that articulates what we would like to achieve and guides the direction of the College's efforts. Some describe it as the “guiding star.” Our Vision Statement now reads as:

Marian College: An Inclusive Community Growing in Faith and Love

                                                     Serving Others

Striving to Succeed

                                                        Creating and Nurturing the Future

The Mission Statement and the School Improvement Plan give us the ways and means that we can progress towards our Vision. We have identified three priority themes in our School Improvement Plan. They are, and in no particular order:

Priority: Learn, Lead and Live the Core Values      

Priority: Succeed and Flourish     

Priority: Engage Community Partnerships

Each theme is expanded and developed through goals and intended outcomes. The direction of the College is very positively situated and there is much to be celebrated as we work through these important new developments in our story and tradition. We will formally launch the Vision and Mission Statements and the new School Improvement Plan in the very near future and we invite you to identify your contribution to the growth of the College.
