EASTER BLESSINGS

The celebration of Easter is the highest moment in the Catholic Church Calendar: Christ has risen. Our staff and students have been reflecting and praying throughout Lent on the 3 pillars of Lent: prayer, fasting, and almsgiving. We wish everyone in our community a blessed Easter, a safe holiday, and time with families and friends in celebration.

Policies and Procedures

Policies – St Mary's College Gunnedah | Catholic Co-educational Secondary School

Please refer to our website for the policies and procedures of our school. Knowing and understanding the policies and procedures enables full engagement in our community. You will find on our website the Living Well Learning Well framework. This framework is system-wide. All schools of the Armidale Diocese work together to promote the work for the best possible learning outcomes for our students. To support this framework is the Living Well Learning Well Policy and Procedures. This outlines the work we do together as a learning community to support the engagement of all of our students in the learning opportunities given in their curriculum experiences. Please read these documents carefully. We look forward to continuing our work together in Living Well Learning Well.

The Uniform Policy is also located on our website. Please read this carefully and assist your child in preparing for the commencement of the next term. If you are unsure of any elements within the policy and need further clarification, do not hesitate in contacting your child’s House Leader. Our Uniform Policy is to enable students to demonstrate their belonging and identity as a St Mary’s College student; to ensure all students are ready for all learning opportunities by meeting all risk mitigations to activities that require special attention. By meeting the uniform policy at the start of each day ensures that your child is ready for learning.

Extra-curricular

Congratulations to all of our students who have had the opportunity to represent the College at sporting events, chess tournaments, speaking competitions, and student leadership. While there are too many to mention individually, it is wonderful to see the College spirit alive in all who step forward to be representatives.

Thank you to our staff

Term 1 has been particularly challenging with the impact of COVID on our staff and students. I take this opportunity to thank all our staff. They have stepped up and supported the students in their learning this term by supervising classes and offering catch-up for students who have had extended absences. When they themselves have been away, they are responsive to their students and have ensured continuity in the learning process. Our staff are fully committed to the learning growth of all our students and our community is certainly successful because of their contribution.

We look forward to seeing you all on Tuesday 26 April.

God bless.

Bern Feldman
