OSHC News

Hello all!

2022 is coming to a close, which means it’s time for our last Vac Care of the season! Bookings are open for both December & January and we have a fabulous lot of activities planned. Click on the links below to view the activities.

Please remember the usual: bring a packed lunch, come with sunscreen on and always remember a hat and a change of clothes on messy days! Our opening times for Vac are 7:30am till 6:00pm, in case you had forgotten!

In other news, if you see OSHC teacher Jade around the place over the next few days – please give her a big goodbye smile as she is finishing up with us at the end of this term! Jade is moving to WA next year to explore and make the most of the post-uni haze – and we are going to miss her so much! Jade has been an educator with us over the last two years and she has worked so hard to support our program in my absence, so we are eternally grateful!

Looking to next year, I thought I would give you advance notice that we are launching an online platform through our booking system where parents will be able to view their bills, their bookings and read messages from us directly! We are pretty excited about what this platform will mean in terms of streamlining communications – and eventually you will be able to book in directly through the app! So please watch this space as I plan on introducing it throughout the Vac period.

See you all over Vac!

Andrew.

A Message from Emily

Oh how the year has flown by! The end of the year is often when we reflect upon everything that has happened in the past 12 months. It’s been a year with many changes and challenges, for some more than others. Remember that there are always people here who can support you. We have a wonderfully supportive and encouraging community who are always ready to help out those who are in need. I want to say a big THANK YOU to everyone who donated food for the Vincent de Paul food collection over the past few weeks. Your generous donations are going to help support families who are less fortunate this festive season. I hope you all have a lovely Christmas this year with your families and enjoy a much-deserved break. I look forward to seeing you all in the new year!

Merry Christmas!

Emily Morgan, Pastoral Care Worker

Sports Day

It was fantastic seeing so many families at Sports Day this year. We have had lots of wonderful feedback about the day, but we would love to hear everyone’s comments about what went well and what we could adjust for next year. Please click on the provided link to complete the survey so we can make Sports Day bigger and better for 2023.

Thanks, Troy

CHECK: Covid measures

Here are the current recommendations from the Department for Education:

COVID safe measures

  • All students and staff must stay home if unwell, even mildly. If students become unwell at school, we are unable to care for them here and we will be contacting you to collect them asap. Please have a plan in place for someone who can collect your child within a half hour.
  • We will be maximising ventilation by leaving doors/windows open, using air conditioning and fans, and keeping doors and windows open.
  • Adults will practise physical distancing where possible.
  • We will continue to practise and promote hand and respiratory hygiene. Hand sanitiser will be provided for regular use, and disposable masks.

Face masks

  • We are still recommending adults and children in Years 3-6 to wear masks inside, to minimise the risk of infection. However, we are now leaving this up to individual discretion.
  • If there is a known case in the family of a child in any class, we are encouraging the adults and children in that class to all wear masks during the infectious period.

Pick up and drop off

  • In the morning please continue to drop children off at one of the entrances to the school grounds, and allow them to make their own way to their classrooms. If you need to speak to your child’s teacher, please make contact through the SeeSaw app.
  • We are now welcoming families to come into the yard at the end of the day

Assemblies

  • Assemblies are now allowed to be held in person once again with COVID safe measures in place, once a fortnight on the Friday of every odd week at 2:30 unless informed otherwise.
