Principal's Report

Well it is the season…… for celebration, for reflection, for gratitude and for care and love.  The past few weeks have been bursting with activities and excitement about the end of the year and about the Christmas story and season. Our staff have been fully involved in all of the various events - they have taken time to plan and prepare,  and they have listened to our students.

As we move closer to Christmas, let us remember the birth of Jesus, a birth that is celebrated around the world by billions of people of various backgrounds, cultures and religions. It’s a story of inclusion, a story of need and of welcome - just some of the traits we have witnessed in our own community. Let’s always be mindful of including all in the conversation and all in the celebration in some way; a way that is inviting and embracing.

The Year 8 Ball was a wonderful family event. It was encouraging to see so many of our families sitting around the basketball courts, and enjoying time with their children. The dancing wasn’t too bad either!

On Tuesday we welcomed our 2023 Year 7 students for their Orientation Day and the excitement was deafening (and that was just from the teachers). This was a small introduction into all things St Joseph’s. Next year will be a wonderful year with these students as they learn about secondary school. Please be reminded that all students will begin the year at our Brigidine Campus in Dickson St. Our Year 7s will move out to the new Kildare Campus in Term 2.

We look to 2023 with hope and a real sense of possibility; a dreaming and wonder of what could be and will be!

I wish all in our community a very Merry Christmas - may you experience faith, peace and love over the break.

Stay Safe and Take Care.

God Bless
