Cultural Immersion Day

Last week our Year 7 students celebrated the culmination of their Term 4 Cultural Identity Program with a Cultural Immersion Day.

The morning opened with a wonderful Smoking Ceremony and Welcome to Country by Chris Cooper and some deadly Didgeridoo playing by Troy Firebrace.

For the remainder of the day, students participated in a range of Indigenous activities including dance, yarn, paint and play, led by Wanyara.

Wanyara is a fantastic cultural education group, that provides interactive Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural experiences to help people understand and embrace an Aboriginal perspective of our country.

We are incredibly grateful to Wanyara and our other special guests for coming onsite to share their culture with us and engaging our students in important lessons of inclusion, acceptance, connection and respect.
