Term 1

And just like that it’s 2023 and we are ready to roll and busy in the Languages department with lots of French to be heard in our classes!

Our Year 7 General Program students have been memorising their start of class rap, getting their mindset ready to hear lots of French.  In Year 8 we are focusing on general conversation in preparation for our first speaking CAT, a great opportunity for teachers to get to know their students better.  Year10 students are improving their vocabulary on the topic of leisure and have made revision posters recapitulating all the grammar they have done in the past.

In VCE, students are studying travelling and holidays.  They are also reflecting on the differences in school systems and French speaking countries.

Stay tuned for our new French Club, French Music Club and French Newsletter Club.  You might also hear about our new conversation competition later this year.  There will be opportunities to explore cultural activities this term with The French Film Festival coming up and the Journée de la Francophonie in March.  Year 7 and 8 students are also reminded there are prizes for the best “cahiers” at the end of each term!
