Meet our new staff

Nick Szabo

Hi everyone,

I’m really excited to be a part of the Auburn High School community and I look forward to getting to know you along the way.  Coming out of high school, I completed a Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science before deciding that teaching was my number one passion.  I have been teaching Health and PE for four years and have also worked as a personal trainer and a swim teacher.  Away from school, lots of sport keeps me busy (surprise), whether it is spectating with friends/family or playing.  I am also very passionate about mental health and wellbeing; how the mind works and self-development. This year, I am also your Extra-curricular Coordinator, so I look forward to working with you in this space and hearing your fantastic ideas.

Hello!  I am so excited to start my teaching journey at Auburn High School this year.  I have spent the past year teaching English and Humanities at Albert Park College and am very excited to test my teaching skills and knowledge in English at AHS.  In my spare time, I love reading, playing the piano and planning my next overseas trip.  I also have a dopey cat called Kirby.  I already feel very welcome here and cannot wait to see what 2023 has in store at Auburn!

Hi there,

I’m very excited to be joining Auburn High School as a Science/Maths Teacher.  I moved to Melbourne from Canada in 2014 and have been enjoying living in Melbourne with my family and our dog.  I have a Master of Teaching from Monash University and previously taught at Keysborough Secondary College.  I like travelling, baking, and reading in my spare time.  I’m looking forward to working with everyone here at Auburn High School.

Hello everyone,

I am very excited to join the Auburn High School team in 2023.  I look forward to teaching French to the Year 7 and 8 classes and Year 9 Binational Journalism classes.  I am from north-eastern France, where I lived for 24 years before moving to the south of France to finish my studies.  In 2013, I decided to go on an adventure to Australia to learn English via immersion as an au pair.  Since then, I have made Australia my second home, even though I love my native country and can talk about the beautiful landscapes of France for hours, I have fallen for the landscapes and people of Australia.

Outside work, I enjoy taking care of my plants, cooking, and reading.

Hi AHS family!

Like the awesome addition of Year 7’s to the community, I am a new face at Auburn High School.  I am really excited to be joining the team and have already felt extremely welcomed and supported by students and all the staff.  I will be teaching Years 7-10 Health and Physical Education, and Unit 3/4 Health and Human Development.  I am super-passionate about keeping both myself and others physically active and promoting a variety of ways to look after our health and wellbeing.  I feel very lucky to be a part of the AHS community and am looking forward to seeing all students thrive in their learning journey through 2023.

Badi Sheidaee

Hello Auburn students, faculty, and parents,

My name is Mr. Sheidaee and I am very happy to be a part of this school community.  I have just moved to Melbourne with my family from Brisbane.  Apart from the strangely cold summer, we are thoroughly enjoying our transition.  I am teaching Business, Humanities and English classes over a variety of year levels.  I hope to meet many of you in my classes over the coming years.

I am the new Mental Health Practitioner at Auburn High School.  I previously worked at Wellington Secondary College.  I am an Occupational Therapist and I have spent most of my career working with adolescents and families in public mental health services.  My role at Auburn will be a combination of working individually with students but also working with Leah Rintoule to improve whole school mental health awareness and prevention.  Outside of work I like to see my friends, garden, and listen to my favourite singers (Vera Blue, Jack River and Meg Mac).
