East Doncaster Secondary College would like to thank Tristan and Nathan from The Salvation Army (Mitcham) for their organisation of the College “Games Club”. Since 2017, both have attended the College for weekly board game sessions with our students.

The Salvation Army is an organisation whose members express their faith through charity work; providing both spiritual and social support in the community. Nathan and Tristan bring along their own boxes of games each week for students to play. They encourage students to show initiative and develop their communication and organisation skills, by participating in strategic and social gameplay. The “Games Club” offers a safe space for a range of students, especially those who are socially disadvantaged, and a fun place for our students to build friendships while playing games. Tristan and Nathan will be moving onto different things in 2023 but have generously donated their games to the students of EDSC and mentored senior students to take over and manage the club next year. 

We thank them for their support of the Games Club and wish them all the best for 2023 and beyond.
