From Garden 

to Plate

Finally we were able to pick our beetroots from the garden today and use them. We made a delicious beetroot hummus. Many of us were not sure about what this was or what it would taste like.  We also made our very our pita bread (flat bread). We rolled each one out individually in some semolina flour.  

To all of our surprise when we sat down to eat together the hummus was actually nice. Lots of us gave it around a 6-7 out of 10. Shamus loved it so much he gave it a 10/10!!

Our gardeners worked hard today making sure the garden beds were free of weeds. We lay sugar cane mulch over the top so that the weeds would stop growing and our garden would be ready to plant our seedlings next term. We tasted one of the oranges from our tree. Joseph, Ava and Lawrence were our taste testers.   They said that is was sour but delicious!
