stARTing the week with an excursion
Ballarat Art Gallery Indigenous Excursion
On Tuesday the 13th of June, the Year Five and Six students attended the Ballarat Art Gallery for a workshop with Indigenous Artist, Dr. Deanne Gilson. All students explored the fascinating Indigenous Artworks, focusing on the historical and cultural values. Students also were able to create their own artworks, sketching and painting native plants and flowers. The paints were sourced from soft rocks and clays and were called Occre Paints.
Everybody was engaged with the knowledge and skills of Deanne, and walked away with a new appreciation of Indigenous Art.
