Year One/Two News

First Aid

As a part of our humanities unit, 'A Healthy Lifestyle', 1/2 students had an exciting opportunity to learn all about first aid through the St. John First Aid in Schools Program.

Students learned what to do in an emergency. They learned how to look for danger and what dangers there might be in the home. They were taught how to check for a response by squeezing someone's shoulders and asking them questions. Students then were educated on how to send for help by dialling 000.

Students were sent home with some important family homework. Students received a card to go on the fridge.  On this card, families can fill in the details of their address etc. and have this information on hand incase of an emergency.

Thank you to Jess for organising the session for our 1/2 students!
