Welcome back to ETRS for Term 3

We trust and hope that you have all had a safe and enjoyable mid year break with lots of fun filled and happy times.

As we move into Term 3, we are excited with the many opportunities that are arising at ETRS. Please be sure to see our term 3 dates listed in our newsletter and on our facebook page.

Term 3 Update

As per Julie’s latest correspondence through Dojo, Julie will be on leave for term 3 to focus on her health. This leads to term 3 looking similar to term 2 in regards to school structure.

Mrs Olivia McMahon will work Thursdays and Fridays in 1/2A during the interim.

Cyber Safety

It has come to my attention that some of our students may be using social media inappropriately which is negatively impacting the wellbeing of their peers. I am concerned that these accounts are being used by our students in a way which is not consistent with our school values of respect and responsibility for others.

This is a reminder that many social media platforms are not recommended for students of primary school age.

Families are also crucial partners with schools in promoting positive social skills. If your child is using social media, please monitor, guide and encourage your children to use it in a way which develops mutual respect and responsibility.

Incursion/Excursions Process

Please continue to support the organisation of incursions and excursions at the school by ensuring that you have given permission and payment for your child/ren to attend prior to the due date outlined on the excursion form. This is imperative to ensure the event is organised and coordinated in a manner that ensures the safety and engagement of all students involved. Where permission and payment isn't received within the timelines specified, it may lead to your child/ren not attending.

Please ensure you are connected to the SENTRAL parent portal/app to ensure you have access to this process.

Please see the office staff for support with this.

Drop Off and Pick-up

Please make the drop off and pick-up time safe for our community.

Parking for ETRS is at the front of the school on Wilkinson Drive or on Coliban Street. The drive-in / bus zone is for the Specialist School ONLY. Unfortunately, it is not for parents/carers or buses of the Primary school to use. Therefore, we ask that the ETRS community does not enter the driveway / bus zone at all.

The school zone is a 40km limit with an expectation and law, that we stay at or under this speed limit. This also assists with traffic flow and reaction time for drivers.

Many students, parents, carers and staff cross over Wilkinson Drive each morning and afternoon, as pedestrians please remember to use the school crossing.

Let's all work together to keep us all safe.

Uniform

Thank you to our students and the support of our families in ensuring our students are in full school uniform every day. Our students look great in our uniform, and it helps develop pride and a sense of belonging. Uniform spot checks will happen throughout the week.

Black pants and black shorts are not part of our school uniform. As part of our uniform policy, all shorts and pants must be navy blue. Students arriving at school, who are not in uniform will be provided with the opportunity to wear school uniform and a phone call will be made home.
