Learning and Teaching Update

'We aim to provide a school environment where ‘Every person can flourish and be known’ This means that our teaching program identifies the unique needs of each individual student, and delivers a learning program designed to grow them into the best person that they can be'.

Dear Parents and Carers

I would like to share with you some wonderful news about our NAPLAN results this year.

This year NAPLAN reporting has been changed to proficiency levels rather than the bands as reported on in previous years. Based on your child’s performance, their score would be reflected in any one of the proficiencies ie. Needs Additional Support, Developing, Strong and Exceeding.

Below is an explanation of each of these Proficiency Levels.

Needs Additional Support - The student’s results indicate that they are not achieving the learning outcomes expected at the time of testing.

Developing - The student’s results indicate that they are working towards expectations at the time of testing.

Strong - The student’s result meets challenging but reasonable expectations at the time of testing.

Exceeding - The student’s results exceed expectations at the time of testing.

We would like to congratulate our Year 3 and Year 5 students for their performance as a majority of our students sit within the Strong proficiency level in all areas tested.

If you have any questions about your child’s NAPLAN results, please see myself or your child’s teacher.

Have a wonderful weekend

Kind regards

Glennis Kerr
