Layla Wotherspoon 8A

This term has been jam-packed with so many fun celebrations and excursions. On May 17, we had IDAHOBIT Day where students ran stalls selling sausages and rainbow lanyards, there was even music performed by some of the VCE students.

We also had Reconciliation Week where we shared our thoughts on what a reconciled future might look like.

Significant Person Day is coming this week and it will be such an awesome day to see what everyone had made and who all their significant people were.

I also can't forget about some of the Year 9 Electives that held signups for the selective programs such as EIS, ADP and AEP. I know many people enjoyed learning about what these programs entail.

The last 2 weeks of this term we started on some of our Term 3 curriculum to get an insight into our learning for next term. Speaking of the exciting things coming up, we also have Year 8 Camp in Term 3.

So many exciting things went by this term so I can't possibly imagine what next term has to offer.

York Newell 8H

This term has been full of exciting things with many more to come.  Our "Mid-Year Melodies" concert was a blast! Many students across Junior School participated in rockin' out to their favourite beats!

The "Battle of the Bands" demo videos have been and gone, CONGRATULATIONS to all that got in.  Look out because the finals are in Term 3!

Also in Term 3, Year 8 students will be going to the Yarra Ranges Tech School to learn about programming for Science, and the School Production will be on the stage in August, with the TICKETS now on sale!

So many great things have been happening this term and so many great things to come.  So, get excited!

Student Achievement - Boxing

Well done to Kingsbury West of Year 8E, who has been training hard in Boxing outside of school and has won the Victorian title.

"I train locally at Lightning Fight Centre and compete in the Victorian Amateur Boxing League. I have had 12 amateur boxing fights. I have won the Victorian title and competed for the Australian title. My goal this year is to have another six fights and win the Australian title. Boxing has helped me with my self-discipline and drive".
