YARRA RANGES TECH SCHOOL

Koorie Student Program Showcase 2023

On Tuesday 13 June, 6 of our First Nations students attended Yarra Ranges Tech School's Annual Showcase Day. They were joined by Aunty Joy Murphy Wandin, who delivered a very special Welcome to Country to begin the event.

Through exploring the 5 stages of Human Centered Design Thinking, students produced a range of prototypes using different technologies. They were very proud to showcase their designs to students and teachers from local schools, special guests and to members of their families.

To conclude the day, students participated in a Yarning Circle, facilitated by Joel Garner from Korin Gamadji Institute, Richmond Football Club's centre for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Youth Leadership.

Overall, it was a very successful, enjoyable and meaningful day! We look forward to participating in the program again next year.

During this term, the students worked on their projects at Yarra Ranges Tech to be displayed at the showcase day.
