We were straight back into rehearsals at the start of the Term 2, and it was amazing to see the show starting to come together.

We kicked off the term with our annual Grade 6 Information Night performance, which gave us our first look into what performing as a cast is like, as well as a glimpse into how production runs for many new cast members this year.

Our performance of ‘I Got This” was a great success, giving future students and parents a glimpse into the world of school production at Lilydale High and the amazing performances we are able to put on every year.

The makeup and costumes looked great thanks to our costume and makeup designer Darcy, alongside amazing props and set by Willow and lighting and sound by Josh and Tristan, all past students who are still a part of the school production community.

The cast have been hard at work learning many new dance routines, songs and scenes for what is one action packed musical. This includes the cardio filled number ‘Watch Your Back’ which includes a massive obstacle course, but our choreography team of past students Jess, Bec and Molly have us building our fitness levels with lots of intense warm ups.

Another fun song is ‘Oh Biology’, a dramatic number that is one of our cast’s favourites.

Act 1 is almost complete and it is looking incredible. I am extremely proud of the entire cast and crew for working so hard to bring everything together.
